DOS File substitution is a simple utility to be run in MSDOS. It has been designed so that the user can open a file and route it to another file they also indicate.

For example, a game of yours should load the configuration from a file called RESOURCE.CFG, but you want it, in place of this file, to load from another called MT32.CFG; then you simply have to write fsubst resource.cfg mt32.cfg before running that game.
